Allowing Transgender Soldiers to Serve Is the American Way

In this article that originally appeared in the Reno Gazette-Journal, I discuss what it means to be transgender, and I make this assertion: Those who take the vow to “defend the Constitution against all enemies, foreign and domestic” should be respected, honored and thanked — without a single thought about their gender.
